"Mary and Jerry's Amazing Goji Story!"

I’d like to share a powerful and true story about Goji (I warn you it’s quite long and a bit personal)

"Dad's Got What?"

It all began when I received a call from my mother. She warned me not to get upset, that everything was under control but that my father had been diagnosed with lymphoma. I was calm. She proceeded to tell me some details about how the prognosis was pretty good and that they thought that he could live with it for 20 years or so under treatment. This would get him to the ripe age of 85 so no one’s complaining.

Wait a minute… I’m complaining! I remember my step-mother living with cancer under cancer treatment and it wasn’t a pretty sight. She did live for 15 years but there was a lot of agony and misery involved as she had what I refer to as an umbilical cord attachment to the hospital and their tests. It was as if she had absolutely no say over her own life anymore. Whatever they said was gospel and she went under the knife every time they advised it. She went through chemo and radiation a couple of times and of course she went on a variety of drug therapies. She was such a vivacious woman whom everyone loved which made it all the more heart wrenching. She had one goal, which was to ensure that she lived till her little boy grew to a man. She bravely reached that goal.

I vividly remember one of the last times that I spoke with her on the phone. For the first time I could hear the very real fear in her voice. I guess they didn’t give her a good prognosis this time, as I believe it had reached her liver. I tried desperately to explain to the family that all she needed to do was change her eating habits and apply a few natural therapies so that her body could work it out.

I was all prepared to fly across the country and live with her for two months in an effort to bring her poor abused body back around. I felt in the very core of my being that we could do it if the family would support the idea. That was in the early 90's and we didn’t have people like Dr. Oz on television. They thought I was just a crackpot who had her head in the clouds. I was thusly ignored. I sent some books and asked the family to please read certain passages. This was not rocket science or voodoo magic I was trying to show them. It was just the simple exquisite innate healing potential that graciously resides in all of us. I was only trying to show how to tap into it. (I have now poured all of my knowledge into a video series you may watch for free. I am on a mission to heal our Earth)

A few months later she passed on as everyone expected. I have never forgiven myself for not more forcefully making the point that her body seemed to me to still be left with a good bit of fight that just needed to be supported---naturally. Well, everything happens for a reason as they say.

In light of my stepmother's experience with cancer, I immediately called my father the same evening that I learned of his lymphoma. I wanted to suggest a few books for him to read. I even read a few passages over the phone to jolt him into a new way of thinking about all this.

He was listening… but not really. He relayed what the doctors had told him. They didn’t know the cause and it was just bad luck like getting struck by lightening. Poppycock! Yes, I suppose it is like getting struck by lightening if you are standing in the middle of a golf course in a thunderstorm!

I had to do whatever I could to try and keep my dad from slipping into the whole routine of hospital and drug dependency. I urged him to realize that it was his lifestyle and dietary habits that led to this. This was not an accident and he must stand up and take responsibility to turn it around.

I think he chewed on that notion a bit but it was late at night and so the conversation ended there. I then spent the next 3 days putting together a detailed email explaining how the body could heal naturally. I had photographs and diagrams, etc. I sent it to the whole family.

Everyone responded---except my father.

That’s it! I am not going to live the rest of my life regretting not getting on the plane and making it abundantly clear that the body can definitely heal itself if properly supported through good nutrition.

Where are Mary and Jerry?

So, where do Mary and Jerry fit in? Well, I knew that my father didn’t take my opinion that seriously on this natural health stuff so I needed other voices that were saying the same thing. I decided to send him an e-version of the book that I was reading to him over the phone. While purchasing the book I found a review of the book that included a testimonial from a man who said that his wife turned her health around by following the guidance of this book. (By the way, that wonderful book is The Fit For Life Solution by Harvey Diamond. It is a very readable book that will make you look at cancer and disease in a whole ‘nother light. I highly, highly, highly recommend it)

Well, included in the review was an email and a phone number in case anyone wanted to talk about it. I was nervous to call and bother them but I thought to myself, “Come on, it’s your dad. Maybe if he talks to someone who has actually applied the principles and healed themselves he may listen a bit better.” So I took the plunge and dialed the number.

Jerry answered the phone and I fumbled around a bit explaining why I was calling and he very warmly greeted me explaining that I wasn’t disturbing them and that they get calls from all over the world. I explained the situation with my father and asked if it would be all right if my father called them. He said “Sure”.

Then Jerry proceeded to tell me the story of his wife Mary. They have since given me permission to recount it here for you:

Mary was a young mother in her early 30’s. She was diagnosed with a fatal form of cancer. I don’t recall what form. The doctors sent her home with a nurse telling her that she was entirely too sick for chemotherapy and that she only had a few months to live.

You can only imagine what a devastating blow that would be to a young couple with children. Well, I guess Jerry wasn’t ready to say ‘Good Bye’ to Mary and he began researching. He happened upon Harvey Diamond’s book and they started implementing the changes to diet with a bit of success. They cut out all sodas and junk food and even tried some of the supplements in the back of the book.

Jerry described that though Mary seemed to be responding a bit she was still extremely tired. She slept 20 hours a day and the 4 that she was awake were spent sitting on the couch drinking coffee as that was the only way she could manage to stay awake (even though Jerry confessed that they knew the coffee wasn’t good for her). Jerry described all of this to me in great detail.

Then…maybe after 20 minutes of describing their ordeal, he says almost as an afterthought, “You know… it was the Goji that really turned it around for Mary.”

I was a bit like the proverbial deer in the headlights. “Huh? The what?”

Then he proceeds to explain it a bit and describes how a friend suggested that Mary try Goji. They had nothing to lose so why not. They gave it a try. Jerry said that after 3 days of Mary taking Goji he came home from work to find Mary full of energy and re-arranging the kitchen! He was shocked.

He then recounted how he immediately exclaimed, “Whoa. Someone’s got some energy today!” And then he lovingly recalls how she happily responded, “Yep, and I didn’t even need coffee.” You could hear the smile on his face and the love in his voice as he said that last little line. He said he would never forget that moment.

This marked the incredible turn around for Mary.

In fact, Mary walked so quickly back toward health that the doctors then informed her that she was now healthy enough for chemotherapy.

Ha! The audacity! Fortunately, Mary and Jerry found that as preposterous as I do since we all know that chemotherapy causes cancer. Mary ignored them, stayed on her own healing path and is now completely cancer free eating healthy foods and living a vibrant life with her family.

If that doesn't make you just want to fall on your knees and give thanks for the miracles that surround us, hmmm, I don't know...

Go What? Go Gee? How do You Spell That?

Now, naturally Jerry’s amazing account of his wife’s recovery piqued my curiosity about Goji. Then he continues to tell me about how shortly after his wife began successfully healing with Goji a friend of his from high school called, perhaps to tie up loose ends and say good bye as he was going through chemotherapy and didn’t seem to think he would make it? Naturally, Jerry shares the Goji experience that he and his wife are enjoying and suggests that his old friend at least give it a try.

Amazing! The same thing happens! His friend calls him up after 3 days of consuming Goji to thank Jerry and tell him that if he didn’t know better he would never believe that he had cancer. He can’t believe how good he feels!

Now, some of you cynics out there may think that Jerry was a very clever salesman. However, when I asked him where I could learn more about Goji he suggested that I Google it. He did not sell Goji. He was just an honest man wanting to share an amazing healing story in case it should help someone else. Now, them’s good folks.

So, Back to My Dad

I wasn't going to let life pass me by this time. I was not going to live my life in regret. I jumped on a plane, flew over the Atlantic and showed up unannounced at midnight on his doorstep with my brand new baby on hip. He was surprised, to say the least.

Anyway, while there I shared all that I had to share with my dad. I honestly think I helped to give him a new perspective on his lymphoma which was really his body’s lymph nodes properly cleansing him of unwanted waste. His lymph nodes were doing a very good job.

Nevertheless, he continued on the path advised by his doctors and went through with the chemotherapy. But as my brother suggested to him, “Dad, go through your chemo, get rid of this and then do whatever you need to do to make sure this never happens again.” I could see that my dad felt more empowered as though he really did have some control on his future health. I’ll never regret jumping on that plane even if he was perhaps slightly annoyed at my unannounced arrival. lol.

Back in Europe

Naturally, upon my return home I began researching Goji. Needless to say, I was simply stunned at what I was learning. I promptly sent my father a 3 month supply of Goji to which he agreed he would take a small amount each morning. He ran it past his doctor first who approved it as harmless.

Six short weeks later he was given a clean bill of health---cancer free! True Story. (His doctors are still scratching their heads as they had him all scheduled out for 2 years of treatment.)
